This course will introduce students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. Students are exposed to four broad conceptual themes: describing patterns and departures from patterns; planning and conducting a study; exploring random phenomena using probability and simulation; and estimating population parameters and testing hypotheses. The College Board’s AP Statistics syllabus is followed. Extensive outside preparation is required. A research project may be required. Students will be required to take the AP Statistics Exam.
